A shocking new poll has revealed that a clear majority of New Yorkers support President-elect Donald Trump’s deportation plans.
The Siena College Research Institute poll taken earlier this month asked registered New York voters whether they support Trump’s deportation policy.
“When it comes to any efforts the Trump Administration will take to deport migrants living illegally in New York, do you think New York State should support or oppose the federal government’s efforts to deport migrants?” the poll asked.
The poll was heavily weighted against Trump, with 49% of respondents self-identifying as Democrats while only 22% self-identified as Republicans. Despite this fact, a significant majority still supported Trump’s deportation plans.
According to the survey, 54% of respondents believe that New York should support the Trump administration’s efforts to deport illegal aliens. Only 35% of respondents stated that New York should oppose those efforts.

Broken down by race, support for Trump’s deportation plans was 56% among white people, 51% among black people, and 47% among Latinos. Opposition was 37% among whites, 37% among blacks, and 36% among Latinos.
Broken down by religion, support for deportation among Catholics was 61%, among Protestants was 59%, and among Jewish respondents was 50%.
This news comes soon after New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) revealed that he plans to help Trump and his border czar Tom Homan with the deportation efforts, though he wants to focus on criminal illegal aliens and still wishes to protect some illegals.
“Those who are here committing crimes, robberies, shooting at police officers, raping innocent people, have been a harm to our country. I want to sit down and hear the plan on how we’re going to address them,” Adams said during a press conference on December 3. “Those are the people I am talking about. I would love to sit down with the border czar and hear his thoughts on how we’re going to address those who are harming our citizens.”
Reporters attempted to push back on Adams’ comments, questioning his sudden support for deportations, but he immediately highlighted decades-old statements from twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama supporting deportation of violent criminal illegal aliens. The New York City mayor even went so far as to dare the left to “cancel” him over his views.
“I want you all to go back and Google Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Google what they said about those who commit crimes in our city and … in our country. They said those who commit crimes need to get out right away — that was their position,” Adams said. “This is not a new position.”
“Because … in the era of cancel culture, no one’s afraid to be honest about the truth. Well, cancel me, because I’m going to protect the citizens of this city,” he added. “And if you think you’re going to come into this city and harm our innocent New Yorkers, and innocent migrants and asylum seekers, this is not the mayor you want to be in the city under.”
"Cancel me because I'm going to protect the people of this city."
He says illegals are "committing crimes, robberies, sh*oting at police, r*ping innocent people."
W Mayor Adams.
