The White House is in hot water after national security communications adviser John Kirby accidentally responded to a press inquiry stating that there was “no use in responding” to a “handful of vets” who are critical of the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.
On the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Kirby blatantly dismissed the concerns of military veterans in response to a Fox News Digital press inquiry.
Fox News included quotes from several veterans in the email, who specifically called Kirby out for “deflecting” from the Biden-Harris administration’s role in the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, following a scathing report published by House Republicans on the anniversary of the withdrawal.
One of the “handful of vets” was Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), who told the outlet: “The bottom line is that the Biden-Harris administration chose politics over strategy, and Kirby, who I wouldn’t trust to guard my grocery list, is now trying to cover for them.”
Another veteran was Stuart Scheller — author of “Crisis of Command” — who told Fox News Digital that the Biden-Harris administration’s failed withdrawal “will be studied for generations as the epitome of failure at the National Security Council level.”
Instead of acknowledging the veterans’ concerns, or even simply refusing to comment, Kirby accidentally hit “reply all” in the email chain — which allowed Fox News Digital to receive a copy of the email chain Kirby sent to White House staffers about the outlet’s inquiry.
“Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe,” Kirby wrote in the email on Wednesday afternoon.
Kirby initially forwarded Fox News’ email to White House staffers on the National Security Council, then replied with that shocking comment to everyone on the chain.
In a follow-up with a Fox News Digital reporter, Kirby confirmed that the message was sent in error while he was busy traveling with President Joe Biden on the anniversary of 9/11.
“Clearly, I didn’t realize you were on the chain,” Kirby responded.
The story quickly went viral on social media, with many pointing out that this is just another example of how the Biden-Harris administration really feels about veterans.
“John Kirby gives you the inside look on what the Biden White House actually thinks of veterans,” wrote commentator Greg Price.

Price went on in a follow-up post to point out that the Democrats are quick to push the hoax that former President Donald Trump called troops “suckers and losers” — a claim that has zero evidence to back it — while at the same time displaying actual contempt for American soldiers and veterans.
“They constantly bring up the suckers and losers hoax even though there’s no evidence that it’s true — while they’ve completely ignored, pushed aside, and brushed under the rug any Gold Star family or critic of their Afghanistan disaster. Horrible, lying disgusting people,” he wrote.
