Whistleblowers: Secret Service ‘Out of Protocol’ In 2nd Assassination Attempt

Whistleblowers Come Forward In 2nd Assassination Attempt

Amid House Republicans’ investigation into the two assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has revealed that whistleblowers have come forward accusing the Secret Service of failing to follow protocol during the most recent attempt.

On September 15, deranged Democrat activist Ryan Routh attempted to assassinate Trump while he was golfing at his Palm Beach golf club. After reportedly hiding on the golf course for nearly 12 hours, Routh was spotted by Secret Service agents roughly 300-500 yards away from Trump, hiding in the bushes with the end of his rifle sticking out of a chain-link fence. Agents fired several shots at the would-be assassin, who fled the scene and was later apprehended.

Many have questioned the circumstances behind this assassination attempt, as Trump’s golf game was not on any public schedules and was a spur of the moment decision — so how did the would-be assassin know Trump would be there? People have also questioned how Routh wasn’t spotted much sooner by Secret Service, and wondered why there wasn’t a full sweep of the golf course.

During a Wednesday appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Hawley revealed that whistleblowers had come forward to discuss the incident — explaining that they had stated that the Secret Service was not following protocol that day, despite having previously protected Trump on that golf course on numerous occasions and thus, they were aware of the location’s vulnerabilities.

“Senator, what are you hearing now from people that are speaking to your staff?” host Jesse Watters asked.

“Well, what we’ve heard, Jesse from new whistleblowers who have come forward about this second assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life, and here’s what they have told us,” Hawley responded. “That golf course that the president was playing, Secret Service have guarded that course many, many times. And what the whistleblower says is protocol calls for Secret Service to station agents along the places in the course that are known vulnerabilities.”

“I want to emphasize, the Service has guarded this course many times,” he added. “They know where there are vulnerabilities. They normally station agents there ahead of Trump’s appearance on the course, but they apparently did not do that this last weekend. And the whistleblowers tell me, that’s strange. That’s out of protocol. It’s not even clear the Secret Service swept the perimeter before Trump took to the course … a breach, rather a protocol and they want to know why, and so do I. I think the Secret Service deserves to give us answers.”
