The Democrat-Socialists holding power in Congress couldn’t manage to launch the inquisition into their Republican “colleagues” that they wanted, now they need another scapegoat. Apparently, Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund‘s resignation on Jan. 7th wasn’t enough. The truth is coming out, just not the way Pelosi and Schumer want.
The instrument of the next sacrifice on the altar of preserving the January 6th narrative is the U.S. Capitol Police Union. The USCP LABOR union is now calling for the resignation of Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman after the Senate Report released early in June implicated her along with Fmr. Chief Sund and other leaders in the massive “intelligence failure” that led to the Capitol Riot.
Gus Papathanasiou, chairman of the U.S. Capitol Police Labor Committee, told NBC News. “The time has come for those in senior leadership who failed us, to stand aside. It is not enough to scapegoat others,”
“Those most responsible, including Acting Chief Pittman who was in charge of intelligence prior to the insurrection, need to step aside for the good of the department,” he added.
An Organized Hit Job To Protect A Prominent Democrat
The “bipartisan” ( in the most sarcastic terms) 100-page Senate report lays the failures of the Capitol Police’s response on January 6th squarely at the feet of the Chief and Assistant Chief of the USCP Sund and Pittmann respectively while curiously sparing the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms, the Architect of the Capitol and the one person statutorily responsible “As the presiding officer of the House” who “maintains order”. That’s right: ultimately the security of Congress is the responsibility of one person: The Speaker of The House Of Representatives: Nancy Pelosi of California.
The Associated Press attempted to limply fact check this, stating that “Pelosi does not oversee day-to-day operations of the Capitol Police.” But consider: The Capitol Police Board is composed of the Sergeants at Arms of the House and Senate, the Architect of the Capitol, and the Chief of the USCP who is appointed by the two Sergeants and the Architect. Two out of three of those individuals (the House Sergeant and the Architect) are responsible to whom? The Speaker of the House.
According to USCP.gov, less direct oversight is granted to four committees, the Appropriations subcommittee of the House and Senate and the Administration Committee of the House, and the Rules and Administration Committee of the Senate. At the committee level, the two Houses share power, but the day-to-day operations are led by the USCP Board report largely to Nancy Pelosi.
It would seem that as far as the Democrat-Socialists are concerned “oversight” only means “oversight” when they want it to. As far as they are concerned “the buck” stops with the Cheif and Assistant Chief of the USCP. Instead of going after the Politicians at the top for their failure in oversight and direction, its’ far easier to target the brass below them.
