California Governor Gavin Newsom just landed in some hot water as his connection with the disgraced Hunter Biden has just come to light. With eyebrows raised across the nation, many are questioning the relationship the two shared.
Fox News obtained multiple emails between Newsom and Hunter that suggest a quid pro quo political arrangement in which the governor was encouraged to mingle with high net worth individuals and invited to official White House functions.
As Newsom is set to debate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Fox News, he will likely be asked tough questions about his relationship with Hunter after brushing off criticisms of his overseas business dealings which have tied him to criminal charges.

The correspondence between the two dates back ten years when Eric Schwerin, a business partner of Hunter’s, suggested that he reach out to then Mayor of San Francisco Gavin Newsom for help in pursuing potential investors.
In June 2014, the office of Newsom’s lieutenant governor passed Hunter’s information along for a documentary film project that Jessica Lee was working on for Mrs. Newsom. Following this meeting, Hunter emailed Newsom directly and they began exchanging emails until October 2014 when he received words of encouragement from him after being dismissed from the Navy for cocaine possession.
In April 2015, Newsom introduced Hunter to lobbyist Eve O’Toole who promised a $5,000 donation which may or may not have been made but it could have been bundled among other political donors.
One week later, Hunter asked Mike Manatos another lobbyist acquaintance to donate $1,000 towards Newsom’s campaign fund which ultimately became $500 instead due to their financial constraints.
By November 2017, Hunter had co-hosted fundraisers for Newsom and also donated personally $10k amounting all donations up till then.
When CNN’s Dana Bash asked if Hunter did anything “inappropriate” leveraging his father’s name in his business dealings, Newsom replied “I don’t know enough about the details of that…If that’s the new criteria, there are a lot of folks in a lot of industries – not just politics – where people have family members and relationships and they’re trying to parlay and get a little influence and benefit in that respect. That’s hardly unique.”
This statement goes against what many people believe especially those who follow republican beliefs since it is seen as nepotism especially coming from someone so close politically speaking.
