China Just Let the Fireworks Loose

Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin got rather testy over Taiwan, Fox News reports, “as he fielded questions from journalists Thursday at a press conference in Beijing.” The fireworks started when a Reuters reporter wanted to know, since “Taiwanese officials have said that a potential meeting between Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is still being arranged, What’s China’s response?” Wang glared at him, gathered his thoughts and let loose.

Taiwan has no ‘president’

Taiwan is a touchy subject for China’s leadership. There’s been a big shakeup in China’s political sector since Xi Jinping cemented his power base in preparation for taking over the world.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi was too nice in his dealings with the west so he’s out and “Wolf Warrior,” aka “Dances With Wolves,” Qin Gang is in. He’s busy behind the scenes helping Xi seize global domination. So, for the past few days, his underling Wang Wenbin has been dealing with the public. Since the west, especially Americans, can’t seem to understand polite diplomatic nuance, Wang didn’t mince words.

I need to correct you first,” Wang glowered. “Taiwan is an inalienable part of China and there is no such thing as ‘Taiwanese president.” No matter what it says on Tsai Ing-wen’s business cards. He has a point. The island territory “split from China in 1949 after a civil war.” They don’t get along well after the breakup but they never had a formal divorce, either.

The only connection between the two nations is billions of dollars in trade and investment.” Microchips. That’s the real reason Joe Biden wants to pry the territory out from under China’s thumb.

That’s a big problem for Beijing because “mainland China does not recognize Taiwan independence and wants it to formally unite with the mainland.” By force, if necessary and soon. Tsai Ing-wen is definitely going “to visit the United States in the coming weeks during a multinational trip.” It’s scheduled for March 30.

After the US, Tsai is expected to visit Guatemala and Belize. Finally, on April 5, she is expected to stop again in the U.S. and visit Los Angeles before returning.” It’s that stop in LA that has everyone anxious. Kevin McCarthy is afraid to follow Nancy Pelosi over there, because he’s sure his plane will get shot down. The upcoming meeting is at the same level of diplomatic equivalence.

Not a good idea

Once Wang had Reuters schooled on Asian history, Wang answered the substance of the question. “We would like to reiterate that we strongly oppose any form of official interaction between the US and Taiwan, strongly oppose any U.S. visit by the leader of the Taiwan authorities regardless of the rationale or pretext, and strongly oppose all forms of U.S. contact with the Taiwan authorities, which violates the one-China principle.” So there.

He reminded those gathered that they have been trying to get that through everyone’s skull for months now. “China has made strong démarches to the US side on this matter.” Nobody in Blinky Blinken’s office knows how to read the funny looking words with accent marks over the letters in the formal protest bulletins, so have been ignoring them.

Heading off the expected defense that she’s done this before, “transiting” through the “United States six times between 2016 and 2019 before slowing international travel with the coronavirus pandemic.” China isn’t buying that obvious pretext for a second.

The reported trip is not so much a ‘transit,‘ but an attempt to seek breakthroughs and propagate ‘Taiwan independence,’” Wang added, along with another angry glare. “We urge the US to abide by the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiqués.” Realizing from the blank stares on reporters he used one of those accented words again, Wang broke it down in little pieces even Antony Blinken can understand.

Joe Biden’s handlers must “earnestly deliver” on the U.S. “commitment of not supporting ‘Taiwan independence‘ or ‘two Chinas‘ or ‘one China, one Taiwan‘, stop all forms of official interaction with Taiwan, stop upgrading its substantive exchanges with the region, and stop fudging and hollowing out the one-China principle.

If we don’t wake up and realize they are serious, we could end up in the middle of a nuclear war, real soon. China just made Ukraine a peace deal they “can’t refuse.” Along with sewing up their solid relationship with Russia, Dances With Wolves just pulled off a major victory in the Mid East. The Saudi Arabians are on friendly terms with Iran’s Ayatollah for the first time anyone can remember. None of that is good for America.
