In a scathing letter, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) demanded that FBI Director Christopher Wray recant his testimony about the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, as Wray exacerbated a far-left conspiracy theory that Trump was not actually shot.

Despite clear footage and evidence showing that Trump was indeed shot in the ear with a bullet from the would-be assassin’s gun, Democrats initially tried to claim that Trump was either hit with shrapnel from the teleprompter (even though all of the teleprompters were intact) or that he was injured when the Secret Service jumped on him to protect him. Others went even further in their insane theories, claiming that Trump staged a fake shooting and either smacked a fake blood pack on his ear or Secret Service put fake blood on him while he was down.

However, those theories were all quickly debunked, with evidence proving that Trump was indeed shot — including confirmation from his doctor.

While this was all but confirmed several days ago, Wray appeared before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday to discuss the assassination attempt — where he falsely claimed that he was still unsure whether Trump was hit by a bullet, glass or shrapnel, setting off a new wave of support for the far-left conspiracy theories.

Less than 48 hours later, the FBI issued a statement confirming that Trump was indeed shot. “What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the statement read, according to ABC News.

After this confirmation, which took much longer than many believe it should have, several Republicans condemned Wray for his testimony and urged him to recant his comments, including Graham.

The South Carolina senator sent a letter to Wray on Friday, telling him to come forward and recant his own inaccurate statement.

“It is clear to everyone that President Trump survived an assassination attempt by millimeters, as the attempted assassin’s bullet ripped the upper part of his ear,” Graham wrote in the letter, according to The Hill. “This was made clear in briefings my office received and should not be a point of contention. Therefore, I urge you to immediately correct your statement and acknowledge that President Trump was hit by a bullet rather than glass or shrapnel.”

“As head of the FBI, you should not be creating confusion about such matters, as it further undercuts the agency’s credibility with millions of Americans,” he added. “Please correct this statement immediately.”

As of Friday evening, Wray has not yet recanted his statement or even responded to calls for him to correct the record.
