Social media is rejoicing after disgraced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his plans to resign this week.
Trudeau, who took over as the leader of the radical leftist “Liberal Party” in 2013 and has served as prime minister since 2015, has presided over Canada’s decline for nearly 10 years — ushering in an authoritarian government that closely resembles a tyrannical dictatorship. His reign has included locking up truckers and freezing their bank accounts for protesting COVID fascism, massive waves of migration, and the normalization of Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID) to the point where nearly one in 20 of the country’s deaths were due to assisted suicide.

However, he has been facing pressure recently from other members of his party, with Politico reporting last week that the majority of the Liberal Party caucus had called on Trudeau to resign. Several top officials in the Trudeau administration have already resigned from their rolls, declaring that they have lost confidence in his ability to lead Canada.
Trudeau is currently trailing far behind his opponent, conservative populist Pierre Poilievre, in the upcoming election, which will see Canada’s parliament suspended until March 24 while the country chooses a new leader.
On Monday, Trudeau told reporters that he plans to resign as leader of the Liberal Party and as prime minister immediately after a successor is chosen by the party.
“Last night, over dinner, I told my kids about the decision that I’m sharing with you today,” he explained. “I intend to resign as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust, nationwide, competitive process.”
“Last night, I asked the president of the Liberal Party to begin that process,” Trudeau added. “This country deserves a real choice in the next election, and it has become clear to me that if I am having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election.”

Social media users celebrated the news, highlighting Trudeau’s failures as a leader and congratulating Canadians for being free of his tyrannical leadership. Many also suggested that President-elect Donald Trump’s victory played a key role in Trudeau’s resignation.

Poilievre, Trudeau’s opponent, also responded to the news in a statement.
“Nothing has changed. Every Liberal MP and Leadership contender supported EVERYTHING Trudeau did for 9 years, and now they want to trick voters by swapping in another Liberal face to keep ripping off Canadians for another 4 years, just like Justin. The only way to fix what Liberals broke is a carbon tax election to elect common sense Conservatives who will bring home Canada’s promise,” he wrote in a post on X, sharing a video where he discusses the issue.
