Canada To Confiscate Citizens’ Firearms, Send Them To Ukraine

Leftist Canadian lawmakers have banned another 324 different types of firearms and are planning to confiscate them and potentially send them to Ukraine.

The Canadian government’s ongoing authoritarian efforts to stifle the freedoms of their citizens have once again escalated, this time to pushing more gun confiscation. There are already roughly 2,000 makes and models of firearms on Canada’s prohibited guns list, according to the Canadian Press. Canada has been controlled by vehemently anti-gun leftists for a long time now, and has effectively prohibited self-defense in the country.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has even outright stated that guns cannot be used for self-defense under any circumstances in Canada.

Trudeau’s liberal allies issued the ban on 324 additional types of firearms and announced the plan to confiscate those firearms from their citizens earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc declared that there would be an “amnesty period” where citizens who own these now-illegal firearms will be temporarily protected from “criminal liability as they take steps to come into compliance with the law.” This “amnesty period” ends in October 2025.

There is also an “exception” during the amnesty period for so-called “indigenous peoples” and hunters who use these firearms for hunting.

“As with the previous list of firearms, these models will, of course, be part of the assault-style firearms compensation program,” LeBlanc claimed. “And, to that end, I’m pleased to point out that the pilot program of phase one of the gun buyback program is now underway. The program will be open for all businesses in the coming days.”

The public safety minister went on to state that the authoritarian Canadian government is working on a plan to send these confiscated firearms to Ukraine to continue perpetuating needless deaths in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

LeBlanc stated that “as part of that process, the government of Canada has committed to the Ukrainian government to identify whether some of these guns could be donated to support the fight for democracy in Ukraine.”
