Bureaucrat Caught Running Fraudulent Marriage Factory For Illegals

A bureaucrat has been accused of running a fraudulent marriage scam to push illegal aliens into legal status before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

Wanda Geter-Pataky, a justice of the peace at New Haven City Hall in Connecticut, has been caught officiating more than 100 fraudulent weddings that are designed to push illegal aliens into legal status.

Geter-Pataky reportedly officiated more than 100 of these likely illegal marriages in just one month, according to the CT Mirror. The outlet also noted that many of these marriages occurred between illegal aliens and American citizens who do not even live in Connecticut — including marriages between couples from Texas, New York, and Virginia.

Local news station WVIT-TV has uncovered 114 licenses for marriages that Geter-Pataky performed just in the month between September 15 and October 15.

This is far from the first time that Geter-Pataky violated the law, as the bureaucrat was previously fired from a government job in Bridgeport, Connecticut, after she was caught carrying out suspicious ballot activity during the 2023 Bridgeport mayoral race. She has been charged with witness tampering, misrepresenting eligibility requirements for voting by absentee ballot, and failure to sign as assister on an absentee ballot. Geter-Pataky is scheduled to have a jury trial in the case next month. It is shocking that she was still allowed to work as a justice of the peace despite these charges.

Connecticut state Sen. Stephen Harding (R) has demanded an investigation into the sham marriages officiated by Geter-Pataky.

“We’re simply asking for the attorney general’s office to do what they do in many cases and investigate whether there’s illegal activity occurring,” Harding said.

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong (D) has refused to even consider addressing these illegal marriages — claiming that any laws broken would be immigration laws, not state laws.

New Haven Health Director Maritza Bond admitted that this sham marriage epidemic has gotten out of hand, stating: “We are concerned. We want to make sure we’re a welcoming city. We also don’t support fraud, if there is fraud here.” But Bond added, “we are not police officers. This is not our role.”

Meanwhile, it appears that Geter-Pataky is not the only bureaucrat officiating these sham marriages, as the CT Mirror noted that there are so many of these marriages happening that the workload of processing the paperwork is distracting city employee from their other duties. The outlet went on to explain that officials are being hired by “marriage brokers” for at least $100 per marriage. Many of these “marriage brokers” are reportedly from India, and are tasked with arranging for Indian men to enter sham marriages with American women, many of whom are poor.

“The U.S. citizen spouse was said to be in a part-time or unskilled job and allegedly ineligible to sponsor the intending immigrant. When asked about this, the caller would mention an arranged sponsor,” New Haven immigration attorney Damjan Denoble told the media. “The story of how the couple met was vague, often described as ‘talking outside of the U.S. citizen’s workplace.’ They claimed to be in love and even living together, yet could provide no details on how they came to love one another.”
