Following President Donald Trump’s landslide victory, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) announced that he would be ending the program that provided illegal aliens with taxpayer-funded free food vouchers.
This pilot program, which was put in place for illegal aliens paroled into the United States by the Biden-Harris administration, allowed city officials to hand out debit cards to illegal aliens living in city shelters. It had been in place for a year and forced taxpayers to fund illegal aliens’ food budget.
ABC News’ New York affiliate, ABC 7, has insisted that Adams ending the program after the contract comes to an end was anti-humanitarian. According to the outlet, the “Immediate Response Cards pilot program was designed to feed migrant families who found themselves in New York with no way to afford food. The one-year contract provided what the City described as ‘culturally relevant food,’ to 2,600 migrant families.”
Illegal alien families were given a shocking $350 per week of taxpayer dollars. Meanwhile, a significant portion of taxpayers don’t even have $350 per month to pay for their own groceries.
New York City had been directly providing food to illegal aliens in shelters before this program was created, but leftists deemed it to be “problematic” because the free food given to these illegal invaders was not “culturally sensitive.”
This news comes as New York City has taken in more tan 200,000 illegal aliens and has been forced to take care of their needs with taxpayers’ hard-earned money. More than two million illegal aliens have entered the United States per year since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the border czar, took office in January 2021.
NEW: Democrat New York City Mayor Eric Adams announces that NYC will no longer be issuing vouchers to illegal immigrants.
Remarkable. Trump gets elected and everyone falls in line.
The decision came one day after Adams reportedly had a phone call with Trump.

Adams reportedly spoke with President Trump on Wednesday and congratulated him on his victory, though it is unclear what they discussed during the conversation. Trump plans to enact mass deportations and close the border upon taking office. Trump won the presidential election on Tuesday in a landslide, taking 312 electoral votes and securing the popular vote by nearly five million votes — which made him the first Republican candidate in two decades to win the popular vote. This victory clearly shows that the American people are tired of illegal immigration and open borders.
