New data suggests that some ABC viewers are upset about “World News Tonight” host David Muir serving as a propagandist during the presidential debate on September 10.

During the event, Muir and his co-moderator Linsey Davis were openly biased in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris — going so far as to give zero pushback for her egregious lies while “fact-checking” former President Donald Trump repeatedly, even though several of their supposed “fact-checks” were outright lies and opinion statements. They also ignored the fact that Harris refused to answer several important questions while at the same time pressing Trump for follow-ups when he did not give an answer they deemed sufficient.

Muir’s regurgitation of left-wing propaganda and his clear anti-Trump, pro-Harris bias during the debate has reportedly caused a ratings decline for his show, according to Fox News.

The outlet reported: “Muir’s ‘World News Tonight’ averaged 6.7 million viewers on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the three episodes following the debate, after averaging 7.6 million in 2024 leading up to the debate.”

“The 12% drop in viewers for ‘World News Tonight’ is more significant than slight declines ‘CBS Evening News’ and ‘NBC Nightly News’ saw when comparing the three episodes following ABC’s debate to the year-to-date totals, although Muir’s newscast remained the No. 1 broadcast evening newscast,” the report continued.

It is unclear thus far whether the viewers who tuned out of Muir’s show were Trump supporters or more centrist Democrats and moderates, though it is unlikely that the left-wing network had many Trump supporting viewers left after years of relentless smears and attacks against the former president.

Regardless, it is highly likely that the ratings decline was in response to Muir’s performance at the debate, as Muir and ABC News in general faced significant backlash over the moderators’ shocking behavior, declaring that the debate was effectively “three-on-one,” with the moderators picking up the slack for Harris’ inability to defend herself or challenge Trump.

This is far from the first time that Muir carried water for Harris, as data from the Media Research Center released just before the debate showed that he gave the Democrat nominee a staggering 100% positive coverage while giving Trump 93% negative coverage.
