While most Americans were distracted by the show in one ring of the Democrat circus, they missed the magic act which misdirected the Senate into pulling a known terrorist out of the big black hat to give her a seat of power in the middle of the American heartland.
Eco-terrorist on the job
On Thursday, September 30, the “contentious confirmation process” ended with an “eco-terrorist” and “violent extremist” getting the job. The Bundy family are furious. Shouldn’t she be in jail for that “tree-spiking incident in the late-1980s?”
Democrats must have thought that they were posting Tracy Stone-Manning as the bureaucrat in charge of Black Lives Matter™ when they approved her as the BLM’s first “confirmed director since Neil Kornze.” He’s the one who led the Bureau of Land Management under Barack Obama and manged to push all the ranchers to the verge of armed revolution. Looks like the palace wants to make it go all the way this time.
Tracy Stone-Manning has a whole rap-sheet full of qualifications for a prison cell. There is virtually no doubt that she’s a domestic terrorist. That happened a long time ago, so now it’s fine if she’s a former criminal.
That’s no reason not to make her director of a hugely important department. Just like the way Eric Holder was wrapped up in all those college riots and armed campus takeovers before he got into the fast and furious gun running game.
Stone-Manning, progressives say, served her penance as senior adviser for conservation policy at the nonprofit National Wildlife Federation. She was also a “former aide to Montana Democrats.”
That makes the confirmed domestic terrorist perfect for the job of handing out grazing and mining permits on federal land across the wild west. You can be sure there won’t be any speckled grouse habitats disturbed on her watch. Cows are only a threat to the landscape and people shouldn’t be eating meat anyway.
A tenth of the country
Without ever leaving her office, Stone-Manning will be in charge of “overseeing 245 million acres of federal land.” That gives the eco-terrorist a tithe of “more than 10% of the entire U.S. landmass.” Along with it are all the rights to “700 million subsurface mineral acres.” How badly did you say you wanted that permit? The Senate split along party lines to approve her for the job.
With all 50 Democrats on board, 5 of the Republicans were so disgusted they didn’t bother to show up to be counted. It would have only made them need to cope with Kamala Harris as the tie breaker.
How soon liberals forget that in 1989 Stone-Manning played a “key role” in “a radical environmental group’s plot to hammer metal spikes into trees in Idaho’s Clearwater National Forest.” The idea was to prevent them being logged.
They were logged anyway and a whole bunch of loggers and sawmill workers were injured in the process. She got caught “lying to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee about her involvement” but the Senate isn’t holding that against the terrorist now.
Back in the day, she was quite the radical terrorist. She “acted as a spokesperson for Earth First!, a group that had vandalized ski resorts and occupied forests to prevent timber from being harvested.” She was nice enough in 1989 to retype “a letter that an organization member gave to her.” That way she could mail it to the U.S. Forest Service without his fingerprints on it.
The letter warned “that trees slated to be cut down had been spiked and contained threatening language, including ‘You bleepards go in there anyway and a lot of people could get hurt.'” Just for the record, “Tree-spiking is an act of sabotage meant to deter loggers from harvesting trees, and there have been incidents of forest and mill workers being severely injured when saw blades come in contact with the hidden spikes.”
