Wisconsin Straw Poll Shows Shocking 2024 Result

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has unexpectedly outperformed President Donald Trump as the leading choice for a 2024 Presidential run in a Wisconsin Republican Party straw poll. The WisPolitics.com poll of attendees at the Wisconsin Republican Convention was performed throughout the event on May 21st.

When provided with a theoretical 2024 GOP field, almost 38 percent of attendants backed DeSantis, while Trump was ranked in 2nd at 32 percent. None of the other possible prospects made it into the double digits. Statistically, that’s a narrow win, but it’s still a win for the 43-year-old Florida Governor who many see as the obvious successor to the MAGA movement and a welcome, youthful perspective in a field of septuagenarian politicians.

WisPolitics reports that 43 percent of the individuals stated that they desire Trump to run once again, while just less than 32 percent were opposed and 22 percent suggested that they were uncertain.

DeSantis has still not actually ruled out a run in 2024.

Trump has not officially revealed his candidateship, however, has actually greatly indicated that he plans to run.

However, President Trump isn’t playing things so coy any longer. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February, Trump mentioned that he has  won two times already and that he will be doing it once again for a “3rd time.”

“We did it twice, and we’ll do it again. We’re going to be doing it again a third time,” Trump said to massive applause. “November 2024 they will find out like never before.”

Trump continued, “The socialists, globalists, Marxists and communists who are attacking our civilization have no idea of the sleeping giant that they have awoken. We are a sleeping giant.”

There have actually been some reports showing that Trump is independently frustrated that DeSantis has actually not officially declined to run in 2024.

According to a report from Axios in January, Trump is “trashing Ron DeSantis in private as an ingrate with a ‘dull personality’ and no realistic chance of beating him in a potential 2024 showdown,” though they did not name their source.

The report continued, “a second source who’s discussed DeSantis with Trump said the reason for the former president’s irritation with the popular governor is ‘that Ron DeSantis won’t say he won’t run [in 2024]. … The others have stated pretty clearly they won’t challenge him.’”.

President Trump has, however, repeatedly denied any feud with DeSantis, as Politico reported in February,

“During an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Thursday night, Trump praised DeSantis and said he continues to have a good relationship with him. His comments come after Trump last week called politicians who refuse to disclose whether they’ve received Covid booster shots “gutless” — as DeSantis has refused to do. DeSantis then shot back last week with criticism over the Trump administration’s handling of the pandemic.

“I get along great with Ron,” Trump said. “Ron was very good on the Mueller hoax. He was right in front along with Jim Jordan and all of the rest of them.”

One thing is certain: the strongest ticket for 2024 would seem to be one with both men on it.
