Tragedy has struck the family of Wells Fargo executive Greg Beckett, who is believed to have committed suicide by jumping to his death. The death of the 46-year-old from Bridgeport, New Jersey has left family and friends absolutely shocked by his sudden death.

In January of this year, he jumped from the 14th floor office boardroom. Sadly, there was no indication of distress in the days and weeks leading up to his death and no suicide note left behind. All that remains are questions about what could have driven him to take such drastic action.

At Wells Fargo, Greg was responsible for overseeing internal controls which protected against risk. Unfortunately, his workload had been steadily increasing with long hours and meetings running late into the night before his demise.

His brother and sister-in-law became concerned after he stopped responding to text messages or phone calls which prompted them to go searching for him at his office only to find it blocked by police.

Outside of work life seemed to be going well for Greg; he had recently moved in with his girlfriend Giovanna Muraca and her daughters along with being a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles football team attending several games throughout the season.

He also showed great commitment towards those around him such as dressing up as Barney for his niece’s 2nd birthday party or assisting his parents with weekly household chores.

But nothing indicated any suffering on behalf of Greg that would lead him down this tragic path – leaving family members bereft and colleagues grappling with unanswered questions about why he chose this course of action over seeking help elsewhere or talking out whatever issues were bothering him.

The company released a statement expressing their sadness at losing one its valued employees noting how it can be difficult to pinpoint why these tragedies occur: “We’re deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague…As we all know, it’s virtually impossible to identify a reason when a tragedy like this occurs.”
