Tragedy has struck the town of La Pobla de Fornals, near Valencia Spain as a man was gored to death by a rampaging bull during a Spanish festival. 61-year-old Jose Antonio Subies, chief executive officer of Pamesa’s South American group, was seen being attacked by the bull that had been released onto the streets. Friend of the deceased, 63-year-old Vicente Fontestad also suffered injuries from the attack however, he remains in the hospital in critical condition after a leg operation.

Video footage of the incident has since gone viral online…careful, as the video could be interpreted as very graphic and upsetting for some.

Animal lovers have found themselves saddened yet again by another incident involving bulls in Spain. In July, Andres Roca Rey was seriously injured after being crushed by a 1,100lb bull in Santiago and then earlier this month horrifying footage came to light showing a distressed bull with its horns on fire being dragged down a street.

Now Jose Antonio Subies has been gored to death at La Pobla de Fornals near Valencia Spain. Calls for outlawing such practices from non-profit organization People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) were sparked immediately alongside outrage from animal lovers on social media who said things like “If you don’t know how to fight bulls why did you do this?” or “If he had had a different pastime this wouldn’t have happened to him”.

Jose Antonio Subies had worked for his ceramic wall and floor tiles firm Pamesa for around three decades when he died from cardiac arrest due to liver and lung injuries sustained during his goring.

He was described as an exceptional colleague by CEO Jose Manuel Llaneza who described his death as a “huge blow”.

Well wishers took it upon themselves to offer their condolences not only to Mr Subies’ family but also for those animal activists that are suffering through yet another tragedy involving bulls in Spain.
