A video of Joe Biden‘s old statements has come back to haunt him. The former vice president made remarks on the campaign trail about illegal immigration that perfectly explain the crisis at the southern border caused by his administration.
Past Comments Resurface
During a Democratic presidential debate in September of 2019, Biden made some comments that have begun recirculating online as the crisis at the southern border has been getting progressively worse.
One of the debate hosts, Jorge Ramos, questioned Biden about deportations during the Obama presidency, asking why Latinos should trust Biden as their president.
“What Latinos should look at is comparing this president to the president we have is outrageous, number one,” Biden began.
“We didn’t lock people up in cages,” Biden claimed. “We didn’t separate families. We didn’t do all of those things, number one.”
This claim is objectively false, as even left-wing outlet USA Today noted in a fact check in August of 2020 that the Obama administration approved and built the “cages” which were designed to be temporary holding areas for illegal immigrant minors.
“What I would do as president is several more things, because things have changed. I would, in fact, make sure that there is, we immediately surge to the border — all those people are seeking asylum, they deserve to be heard. That’s who we are. We’re a nation who says, if you want to flee, and you’re freeing oppression, you should come,” Biden continued.

The Bottom Line
Biden blatantly stated that there should be a surge at the border. Along with his promises of amnesty for illegals living in the United States, and his dramatic reversals of Trump-era immigration policies, Biden ensured this crisis would happen. Now, his administration is trying to do damage control, claiming there is no crisis. But even the left-wing media has been forced to report on the issue, as the situation at the border has become so dire that it is impossible to hide. Biden’s previous statements only serve to prove what conservatives have been saying all along: this crisis is completely the fault of the Biden administration.
