As the battle rages on between Israeli forces and Hamas militants, several American citizens’ lives hang in the balance while many more have already perished as a result of the chaos. Recently, current President Joe Biden addressed the Israel-Hamas conflict and confirmed the death of 14 Americans.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan revealed to the White House Press Corps that twenty Americans are still missing, but provided no further details about their condition or whereabouts. This news raises serious concerns about the current administration’s commitment to protecting its citizens overseas.

When asked if any of the twenty people who remain missing are hostages held by Hamas, Sullivan made it clear that he was unable to specify how many were being held hostage, only that “we believe there are 20 or more Americans who are missing”.
He continued on to explain that they would keep working hour by hour “to determine whether we can account for any of those Americans or to confirm exactly what the number of Americans who are being held hostage”, suggesting that even U.S officials have not yet been able to pinpoint their location or status with certainty.

In addition, four families of missing Americans reported having received no contact from either the State Department nor the Israeli government since hostilities began – a claim which seemed to be confirmed when Sullivan told reporters that President Biden had yet to reach out personally towards those affected by this tragedy.
It appears as though these families have been left completely alone while their loved ones remain unaccounted for abroad – a development which raises concerning questions about how seriously this administration takes our national security and safety interests abroad.
More shockingly still is the fact that despite all this chaos and uncertainty surrounding U.S Citizens abroad, President Biden has taken absolutely no action against Iran.
This baffling decision shows an inexplicable lack of concern from our leaders regarding both our own citizen’s wellbeing as well as foreign affairs with one of America’s most dangerous enemies in recent history.
