After the University of Nevada-Reno’s (UNR) women’s volleyball team refused to play against a team with a male player, their own university has turned on them in favor of the cult of transgenderism.
The UNR women’s volleyball team recently became the fifth university to forfeit a match against San Jose State University over the team’s inclusion of a male player who pretends to be a female, citing concerns about the safety of their female players.

In a statement about the decision, the women’s volleyball team declared: “We, the University of Nevada Reno women’s volleyball team, forfeit against @SJSU and stand united in solidarity with the volleyball teams of Southern Utah University, Boise State University, the University of Wyoming, & Utah State University.”
The statement went on to note that the women demanded that their “right to safety and fair competition on the court be upheld.”
“We refuse to participate in any match that advances injustice against female athletes,” the statement concluded.
The decision was widely celebrated on social media by conservatives and women’s rights activists, including former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines, who became an advocate for female sports after being denied a trophy in favor of a male swimmer.

UNR has since released a shocking statement attacking their own team, noting that they support “providing an inclusive and supportive environment” — which apparently only applies to men pretending to be women at the expense of women concerned about their safety — and claiming that the women’s volleyball team’s statement was made “independently and without consultation” with the university.
The statement went on to argue that the university abides by the law that protects “the equality of rights under the law for things like race, sexual orientation, and “gender identity or expression.”
UNR concluded the statement by effectively threatening the safety of its own student athletes, declaring that the October 26 match against San Jose State University will still happen — though the school did claim that the women who do not play will not face any disciplinary action. It is highly likely that those who refuse to play will still face consequences from the radical leftist mob, while those who are brave enough to play are facing a significant chance of injury.
Gaines shared this statement in a post on X, calling it “INSANE.”
“This is the intimidation & emotional blackmail that girls face when they stand up for themselves. Hold the line girls, @NevadaWVB. We’re all behind you! BOYcott,” she added.

Former Fox News host turned independent podcaster Megyn Kelly also responded to the news.
“A 5th team forfeits in D1 collegiate women’s volleyball rather than play against a team w/a male player,” Kelly wrote. “This, as their own school turns on them, content to endanger them by pressuring them to play. The girls aren’t having it. GOOD FOR THEM.”

Meanwhile, conservative activist Robby Starbuck took the criticism one step further, sharing the contact information for the men that are putting their female student athletes in danger and advocating for people to “email their offices with your thoughts at the publicly listed emails.”
