This weekend, Turning Point USA held a conference in Florida.
That is not the big news, but the outcome of the straw poll that was taken there is.
Not only did Donald Trump win, in Florida, but he trounced Governor Ron DeSantis.
In His Backyard
I fully expected Trump to win this straw poll.
However, it being in Florida, I expected DeSantis to be within shouting distance, but that was not the case.
Trump quadrupled DeSantis’ pull, and then some.
Trump snagged 78.7 of the vote, with DeSantis coming in second with a mere 19 percent.
If you do the math, you can see only crumbs left for everyone else.
Governor Kristi Noem, arguably the most popular woman in the GOP in terms of a presidential bid, garnered only one percent, and she was in third place!
The rest of the field barely nudged the needle.
On the flip side, the most feared candidate on the left is pretty boy Governor Gavin Newsom.
If he is the best Democrats have to offer, I think we will be okay.
