Three teenage girls have been arrested after attacking their mother and trying to kill her for turning off the Wi-Fi in their home.

Ed Gonzalez, the sheriff of Harris County, Texas, announced the arrest earlier this week, revealing that the arrestees were three teenage sisters aged 14, 15, and 16, all of whom were living with their mother in Houston, Texas. These teenage girls reportedly “coordinated a plan to try and kill” their 39-year-old mother, according to Gonzalez.

The mom reportedly shut off the house’s Wi-Fi on the evening of March 23 for unknown reasons, prompting the girls to plan to murder her.

After the Wi-Fi was shut off, the three teens allegedly grabbed kitchen knives and began chasing their mother around their home and out into the street.

One of the girls then took it a step further, grabbing a brick and throwing it at their mother. The brick struck the woman in the ankle. The girls’ 70-year-old grandmother was also reportedly injured when she was knocked over while trying to protect her daughter from her grandchildren.

Fortunately, despite the shocking violence, neither the mother nor the grandmother sustained any serious injuries during the attack.

The three teenage girls were arrested when Harris County deputies and detectives were dispatched the home soon after the attack. They have all been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and were booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to neighbors who spoke with local news station FOX 26, the family has a long history of disturbances and has had the police called to their home on numerous occasions.

“They’re known for that in this neighborhood. There’s always cops around that house,” one anonymous neighbor told the outlet. “I think that’s so crazy. I mean it just tells how unstable that family is, and it’s very sad for them.”

“I don’t even let my kids come outside because of them,” another neighbor told a local NBC affiliate news station.
