Stupid people do stupid things… and they often pay a high price.

Such was the case for a group of kids that found an unlocked Maserati, then decided to take a joy ride.

Police saw the theft on video and tracked the car, which is when the driver sped up, eventually losing control and flipping the car.

Bad Decisions

The three kids have since been identified as 15-year-old Keondrick Lang, 16-year-old Malachi Daniels, and 15-year-old Mario Bonilla.

The kids stole the car at 3:30 a.m., so there is the first problem.

What the hell were these kids doing walking the street at that time of the day?

I also cannot help but wonder why the car was not only unlocked but why the owner has left the keys in a $100,000 car.

As luck would have it, a chopper was in the area in an unrelated case when they saw the kids enter the car and take off.

The driver of the car was later identified as Lang.

Deputies approached the car to get the kids to stop, but they took off at high speed, which did not last very long.

Lang lost control, went over the sidewalk, and flipped the car.

The car landed on its roof in a parking lot, and it looked like the car had been bent around a pole.

Bonilla, who was in the front passenger seat, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Daniels and Lang were taken to a local hospital with multiple injuries.

Daniels’ injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

Lang has already reportedly had several surgeries and while not initially expected to live, remains in critical condition.

They will have a hefty sentence awaiting them when they get out, especially Lang, who will more than likely be facing manslaughter charges, at the minimum.
