Officials Warn Consumers To Throw Out Millions Of Eggs

Shocking FDA Announcement on Popular Food Item

A shocking announcement from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has left many consumers concerned, as they are now being warned to throw out millions of eggs linked to a salmonella outbreak.

Initially, a recall was issued by Milo’s Poultry Farms — a business located in Bonduel, Wisconsin — in early September after their eggs were linked to a salmonella outbreak. The eggs were sold under two brand names: “Milo’s Poultry Farms” and “Tony’s Fresh Market.”

A report from September 9 revealed that at least 65 people had fallen ill and 24 were hospitalized after contracting salmonella. Thus far, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there have been no reported deaths related to the outbreak.

However, that recall has since been upgraded, with the FDA confirming to Fox Business on Monday that the recall is now at Class I status.

According to the FDA website, Class I recalls are “situation[s] in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”

The recall update on the FDA’s website confirmed that it now impacts 345,417 dozen cartons of eggs, or roughly four million eggs in total. All of these eggs were sold to stores and restaurants located in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan over the summer.

The FDA initially tested “environmental samples” that confirmed salmonella was present, then conducted “genome sequencing” to confirm the results, leading to the recall.

“The recall was initiated after the FDA informed the company that environmental samples tested positive for the bacteria,” a press release from the FDA read, later adding: “The FDA also conducted whole genome sequencing and found that the samples were related to an ongoing salmonella outbreak investigation.”

Officials have since warned Americans not to eat, sell, or serve eggs from this batch, according to a Monday report from the National Desk.

This recall comes amid an already difficult market for egg consumers, as the Biden-Harris administration’s inflation crisis has led the price of eggs to increase a whopping 147% since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office.

“Data from the Producer Price Index data, not seasonally adjusted, shows that the price of eggs has shot up 147 percent from January 2021 to July 2024, covering nearly the entirety of Biden and Harris’s time in office,” Breitbart News reported on August 22.
