He has entertained sports fans for several years now, but now he has gotten in trouble again. Unfortunately, this NFL star player has some issues.
Does this sound like a broken record to you? If so, it is just the sad truth manifesting itself yet again. The more things change, the more they remain the same. Aldon Smith (yes, THAT Aldon Smith) is now having some off-the-field problems, this time having been arrested for a DUI resulting in injury.
According to TMZ, records show that this free-agent defensive end had been booked into a northern California jail at 7:38 p.m. last Monday night.
Records of the incident showed that the bail for Aldon Smith had been set at $50,000.
They set the 32-year-old pass rusher’s court date for the following Wednesday, according to the records.
Of course, for Smith to be having run-ins with the police is old hat for him. He has already been arrested for DUI multiple times in the past and he was accused of a domestic violence offense in 2018.
Smith’s most recent arrest prior to this latest one, however, was a real doozy. In April, he apparently was placed in custody for allegedly burglarizing a New Orleans-area coffee shop.
One of the main reasons for this would have to be because Aldon Smith has had his fair share of substance abuse issues in the past, and that has led to the majority of his legal troubles. Indeed, they have been so bad that they nearly derailed his once-promised NFL career and he was out of football from 2016 through 2019 before making a comeback with the Cowboys in 2020.
This NFL star player was born in Greenwood, Mississippi and he attended Raytown High School in Raytown, Missouri, playing for the Bluejays. He recorded 60 tackles and 12 sacks. He went to college at Missouri and recorded 108 tackles and 17 sacks. He was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2011.
