Thugs Go to Rob Store, Then a Marine Veteran Steps in, Turns Situation 180

Armed thugs attempting to rob a convenience store came face to face with a Marine veteran, and they definitely did not like the consequences.

A brave customer who served in the United States Marine Corps was able to stop an armed robbery of a convenience store in just a few seconds, without a weapon of his own.

The incident took place at approximately 4:30 a.m. on October 20th, at a Chevron store in Yuma, Arizona. Surveillance footage from the attempted robbery shows three masked individuals, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entering the store and pointing the gun at the cashier.

As they walked in, the Marine veteran was turning around to leave with a bag in one hand. Upon seeing the gun, the veteran took immediate action, pushing the gun up into the air with his free hand, then tackling the suspect as the other two ran out of the store.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the customer was able to keep the suspect detained until deputies arrived at the scene.

Deputies then took the suspect in to the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center, where he was booked on charges including armed robbery and aggravated assault.

When deputies asked him how he was able to control the situation, the veteran stated: “The Marine Corp taught me not to [mess] around.”

The other two suspects who took part in the attempted robbery are still outstanding. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME, to remain anonymous.
