She is finally being charged for the evil things she did to her young children, and all we can say is that it is about time, no pun intended.
This woman has been behind bars for five years now, and the state is finally beginning to prosecute her for the evil things she did to her children. Don’t let that smile in her mugshot fool you. This woman is evil incarnate because she stabbed four of her children to death.
Shanynthia Gardner was found guilty Tuesday on 20 counts regarding this, including charges of first-degree murder, neglect, and aggravated child abuse.
Investigators recount how Gardner, 29 years old at the time, stabbed four of her children to death. They ranged in age from six months to four years old. Her oldest son was seven, and he was the only child to live through her mother’s rampage.
These children were stabbed to death in 2016 at the Greens at Irene Apartments in the 4700 block of Southern Hill Drive.
Under normal circumstances, it is an idyllic setting with parks and trees throughout, but in this case, it was totally hellish for this monster’s children.
According to police records, Shanynthia Gardner admitted to the fatal stabbings while she was talking to her husband on the phone.
This woman was eventually found guilty by a judge who rejected her insanity defense, according to a release from the Shelby County DA’s office.
The judge ruled that Gardner had the ability to appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions when she stabbed her children to death.
According to the affidavit, Gardner stabbed all four of her kids – all under the age of five – in the throat area, and they would all pass away before law enforcement arrived on the scene.
The seven-year-old not only escaped but tried to get help for his siblings but to no avail.
Gardner was working as a part-time employee at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at the time that she did these terrible things to her own kids.
She has been in custody she committed this grisly act and will be sentenced on January 28, 2022.
