Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has once again proved why he does not deserve to lead the GOP in the Senate.
The only real leverage the GOP has right now is in government budget legislation.
McConnell is gathering support to help Biden pass an omnibus yearlong spending bill before the GOP takes over the House next month.
He is basically tossing our leverage right into the trash, just as I suspected he would do.
Utter Failure
When push comes to shove, McConnell always seems to sell us out.
McConnell appears to be fearful of the House majority, so he is ready to help Biden pass a year-long budget now rather than a stopgap measure to keep the government operational.
By passing one more temporary spending bill, he would give the GOP some leverage to get some of our programs into the spending bill rather than all Democrat pet projects.
Better yet, how about just pass a temporary spending bill so we can remove all the fat out of the year-long bill and actually only fund the government.
I do not like big spending bills because there is quite a bit that always seems to get lost in there.
I think McConnell is fearful of McCarthy making a deal with the MAGA contingent in the House that, among other demands, wants to see single issue legislation as the new norm.
McConnell is a sellout, and the man has to be replaced in leadership.
