Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has demanded that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) explain to the American people why one of its researchers intentionally hid data showing the negative effects of puberty blockers for minors.
Disgraced Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy, the most prominent doctor performing sex changes on minors, told the New York Times last month that she had purposefully prevented the publication of a $10 million taxpayer-funded study proving that puberty blockers had negative effects on children. She told this story as if it was a good decision to block the study’s publication, noting that she had believed that it would show that puberty blockers had improved children’s mental health. However, when the study showed no such thing, she decided to prevent the American people from knowing that.
Olson-Kennedy, who is currently facing a lawsuit from a now-adult woman who had her healthy breasts removed by the doctor at just 14 years old, told the New York Times: “I do not want our work to be weaponized.”
“It has to be exactly on point, clear and concise. And that takes time,” she added.

Tuberville and his colleague, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), issued a press release demanding that the NIH explain Olson-Kennedy’s actions — as she is funded by the agency.
“We remain concerned that minors lack the ability to fully understand the lifelong outcomes of the interventions studied in this project and provide their consent,” the senators’ press release read, in part. “Further, taxpayers have the right to know the outcomes of the research they fund, particularly when the intervention studied has life-altering impacts.”

The Daily Wire interviewed Tuberville via phone earlier this week, where he blasted the NIH for “withholding all the data from the American public about puberty blockers.”
“At the end of the day, they don’t improve mental health of children and they’re trying to prove that it did,” Tuberville added. “It’s just another insane idea that the Left has had … they want to create a war over gender and we’re not going to fall for it right now.”
Tuberville went on to point out that the American people deserve to know exactly where each dollar of their tax money is going, highlighting the fact that transgender activists have desperately been “trying to hide everything that they’re doing when it comes to gender.”
This news comes as the Supreme Court is currently reviewing a case that could ban transgender procedures for minors.
