I am among those who have long believed the only money from outside the state or locale to be allowed for fundraising is during a federal election.
Other than the presidency, there is no need for anyone out of state or out of county to donate to a political candidate.
To that point, Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams, according to a Washington Free Beacon report, has only received 14 percent of her campaign funds from Georgians.
Inviting Corruption
Tell me why someone front Pittsburgh needs or should even be allowed to donate to a DA campaign in Philadelphia.
Tell me why someone living in Texas should donate to Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in South Carlina.
Tell me why people from New York, California, and DC donate to a Georgia governor’s campaign.
This is an issue on both sides of the aisle, but I have never seen anything like I see with Stacey Abrams.
Of the $50 million she raised, only $7 million came from her state.
Let’s get even more specific… $22.7 million, almost half the money donated to her campaign, came from the states mentioned above.
Compare those numbers to Kemp, who has raised 83 percent of his money in-state.
This is how people like George Soros change this country… outsiders who have nothing to do with a state dump millions into elections to literally buy them.
They flood the airwaves and dominate advertising, almost creating a Pavlov’s dog response once the voter heads into the voting booth.
Keep in mind, the majority of voters are not educated… and I do not mean a literal education, but educated on candidates.
They see ads and a few headlines rather than investigating the candidates on their own and make their decision from that.
How successful would Stacey Abrams be if this outside money was not injected into her campaign?
Without that money, Kemp wins in a landslide, but instead, now we will have a nailbiter because of all this outside money.
You want something to complain to your congressman about, this is it.
Stop the outside funding because it corrupts our political world far worse than anything else in this country or any other foreign government.
Elections in this country are currently won and lost by deep-pocketed elites… that is just a brutal fact.
