It would appear that Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) is trying to get his moderate card back before the 2024 election takes place.
After siding with Biden on numerous high-ticket spending bills, Manchin is now stiffening up his spine.
With a gas stove ban a seeming reality, Manchin is working on legislation with Cruz to block such a move.
Doesn’t Matter
On the legislation, Manchin stated, “The federal government has no business telling American families how to cook their dinner, which is why Senator Cruz and I introduced bipartisan legislation to ensure Americans decide how to cook in their own homes.”
This is almost comical in nature, however.
In fact, I would not even doubt that Manchin did this with Joe Biden’s approval.
You see, this legislation would still need more Democrat support in order to get it through the Senate.
If that somehow happens, then the House passes it, guess who would have to sign it into law?
Do you really think Joe Biden would sign a law against banning stoves if that was his ultimate intention?
So, once again, we have nothing more than political theater being created in the hopes of Manchin gaining back the trust of some voters he has betrayed over the last two years.
