Federal agents in partnership with Texas state law enforcement have announced that the infamous Colony Ridge development is being targeted for deportation operations.

The Colony Ridge development, which spans roughly 60 square miles just north of Houston, Texas, has long been a magnet for illegal aliens. According to The Daily Wire, which has conducted a series of investigations into Colony Ridge’s pro-illegal alien financial and marketing schemes, “The development lures illegal alien buyers by boasting that they do not need to provide a social security number as it encourages them to ‘own land in the United States.’”

On February 24, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Texas Department of Public Safety were targeting Colony Ridge for deportation operations.
“Colony Ridge is being targeted today,” the governor wrote in a post on X. “Texas DPS Troopers & Special Agents are assisting Homeland Security Investigations with an operation in Colony Ridge this morning.”
Abbott went on to note that DHS and DPS were “targeting criminals & illegal immigrants” — revealing that he has “worked with Tom Homan on this [operation] for months.”

The Texas governor also confirmed in a reply that the operation had already happened prior to his post, as some users were concerned that the announcement would allow illegals to flee the area before law enforcement could apprehend them.

This news comes as Colony Ridge has already been targeted in an earlier wave of raids soon after President Donald Trump took office for his second term. Several criminal illegal aliens were apprehended during those raids, including an illegal from El Salvador who was wanted for murder.
According to The Daily Wire, there have been many illegal alien criminals captured in Colony Ridge since the outlet first exposed the development in 2023, “including multiple murder suspects wanted by the International Police, a Guatemalan human smuggler tied to a ‘mass casualty event,’ and most recently, a previously deported illegal alien caught with 344 pounds of meth inside his trailer.”
Meanwhile, Texas lawmakers have already been trying to pass legislation to deal with the Colony Ridge problem. Texas state Rep. Janis Holt (R), who took her seat following her predecessor’s scandal over taking money from the Colony Ridge’s developer, introduced a bill that would track foreign buyers who purchase land in Texas.
