ICYMI – Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) may have a bit of a problem on his hands.

Jordan has been touting a report that he says implicates Secretary Blinken for orchestrating the intelligence letter that dismissed Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 election.

The White House is now saying he omitted exculpatory statements and he is abusing his authority.

Who Is Right

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) sent a letter to Blinken to call him in.

In part, the letter stated, “We are examining that public statement signed by 51 former intelligence officials that falsely discredited a New York Post story regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop as supposed Russian disinformation.

“As part of our oversight, we have learned that you played a role in the inception of this statement while serving as a Biden campaign advisor, and we therefore request your assistance with our oversight.”

The White House responded that Jordan left out testimony from its witness that excluded Blinken from the process, but there is a little bit of a twist here.

For instance, the witness was asked Blinken suggested that the Biden campaign could use some help, he responded, “It’s not my memory that he said that.”

What makes it really interesting is that when the witness was asked, “When he called you, did he direct, suggest, or insinuate in any way that you should write a letter or statement on this topic,” he responded, “My memory is that he did not, right. My memory is that he asked me what I thought.”

The White House responded, “This isn’t surprising about @Jim_Jordan. He has a long, well-documented history of highly misleading leaks to manipulate media to advance his partisan political goals.”

So, let me ask you this…

If Blinken called the intelligence community, with members that did not want Trump in office, and asked something along the lines of, “How do you think a letter from dozens of intelligence officials saying the laptop could be Russian disinformation would impact the story,” would you take that as a suggestion to put that letter out there?

Maybe Blinken did not give the order, but if this played out anything close to that scenario, it is pretty much the same thing.
