The Worst Serial Killer in Modest History About to be Paroled

How can a serial killer ever possibly be out of prison on parole?

Well, we should probably ask Columbian officials that question.

Since Columbian law only allows someone to be imprisoned for 40 years, regardless of the crime, one of the most notorious serial killers of all time could soon be set free.

Parole

Luis Garavito has more than 190 bodies attributed to his murder count.

He focused on young men and boys, raping, torturing, then murdering them.

He was dubbed La Bestia – “the beast,” during his reign of terror.

When he was initially caught, he copped to the murder of 140 people.

Since he has been in prison, that number has now risen to 193 people.

Most of his victims ranged in age from six to sixteen.

Even though he has confessed to the 193 bodies, police believe the count could exceed 300.

Garavito will have served 20 years in the upcoming weeks, which means he is officially eligible for parole.

We can only hope that President Iván Duque has the same attitude now that he had in 2021 when Garavito applied for early release.

At the time, Duque stated, “I have profound indignation at the possibility that anyone would suggest that that beast leave prison.

“The national government neither sponsors or supports that.”

Garavito has worked the system, claiming that he has changed and if released, he would like to help abused children.

I think he is right where he belongs, and hopefully, Columbian officials do not fall for his trap and parole him.
