Former Twitter CEO and founder Jack Dorsey sat before Congress and denied shadow banning and censorship.
That, as we all now know, was a complete and utter lie.
Elon Musk has dropped all the files, with more coming.
Now, finally, Jack Dorsey is stepping up to take the blame.
The Confession
Dorsey took his shots, but he has encouraged Musk to drop everything, unfiltered, to expose it all.
He stated, “If you want to blame, direct it at me and my actions, or lack thereof.”
Dorsey continued, “I generally think companies have become far too powerful, and that became completely clear to me with our suspension of [then-President Donald] Trump’s account.”
Dorsey condemned shadow banning, stating, “A ‘follow’ action should always deliver every bit of content from the corresponding account, and the algorithms should be able to comb through everything else through a relevance lens that an individual determines.”
He encouraged the release of more Twitter files, stating, “I wish they were released WikiLeaks-style, with many more eyes and interpretations to consider, there’s nothing to hide … only a lot to learn from.”
On that last statement, I would have to disagree.
The dropping of these files should open Twitter and Dorsey up to significant lawsuits.
Think about the people that were advertising for fans then had their reach limited.
Again, I am no legal expert, but that sounds an awful lot like fraud to me.
