U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are being ruthlessly mocked on social media after showing just how many government employees it takes to move a small log.
In a hilarious post on X, CBP showed exactly how efficient the government is at dealing with debris removal from Hurricane Milton.
“Along with our partners at @FEMA, we will continue with disaster recovery as a result of Hurricane Milton. The safety of the American people is our top priority,” CBP captioned the video.
The ridiculous 20-second clip shows at least 14 CBP officers passing a small log down a line to throw it in a debris pile.

Social media users were quick to quip about the video, calling it a perfect display of government “efficiency” and wondering how it takes more than a dozen people to do a simple one-person task.
“I was in Asheville yesterday and saw one 75-year-old veteran carry a log twice this size twice as fast as these 20 government employees,” Daily Wire Senior Editor Cabot Phillips wrote.

NewsNation anchor Leland Vittert pointed out that this was an “insane waste of resources” — as CBP agents should be on the southern border dealing with the border crisis, while this job could be easily done by one average American with a chainsaw instead of taxpayer-funded government agents.
“Is it just me or is this an insane waste of resources?” Vittert asked. “Put the @cbp officers on the border to stop [fentanyl] and hire some folks with chainsaws — what am I missing?!”

“Government waste and incompetence in full view right here,” The Federalist CEO Sean Davis wrote.

Daily Wire editor Virginia Kruta pointed out the irony of the federal government, noting that these agents can step up to deal with hurricane debris but they couldn’t even bother to have one Secret Service agent stop the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump because they would have had to stand on a “sloped roof.”
“We can get 14 federal officers to move an 18-inch log, but we can’t get one Secret Service Agent to check out a sloped roof,” Kruta wrote. “Sadly, that tracks.”

Other critics wondered how the federal government couldn’t figure out that a wheelbarrow would be more efficient and would speed up the process.
As The Daily Wire noted, “At least Americans can rest easy knowing the answer to the question. It takes at least 14 CBP officers to move a small log 30 feet. Americans are still waiting to find out how many CBP officers it takes to stop the Biden-Harris administration’s border crisis.”
