That runaway train we were all hoping to see in November got knocked off the tracks a bit.
It does not look like the GOP will lose the House, but the margin will not be quite what any of us had hoped.
If Fox News’ latest Power Rankings are accurate, the GOP continues to lose ground to Democrats in the House.
Good News, Bad News
On the bright side, it looks like the GOP has 216 seats on lockdown.
With only 218 needed for the majority, prying the gavel from Pelosi’s hands should not be difficult.
The bad news is that 30 seats are up for grabs and pretty evenly split.
If that forecast stays true, Republicans will hold a 231 to 204 advantage in the House.
It is a nice majority, but we were hoping for something like three dozen seats as a spread.
Even with that prediction, the Democrats do have a path to holding the chamber, but they would need to sweep the 30 seats that Fox News sees as being up in the air, which is unlikely to happen.
Again, it is not time to panic, but this is a wake-up call for Republicans to stop being stupid.
They had all the momentum yet they keep giving Dems outs, such as Graham and his abortion legislation.
Why anyone on the right is introducing partisan legislation right now is beyond me when it has zero chance of passing.
