At least one New Jersey lawmaker is convinced that the recent “mysterious” drones spotted all across the state were launched from an Iranian “mothership,” currently stationed just offshore. Jeff Van Drew announced his theory Wednesday morning while appearing on Fox News.
Drones swarming New Jersey
The Garden State of New Jersey has been infested with a swarm of strange drones. There’s a solid possibility that they might belong to the Ayatollah. Or whoever’s running things over there while he recovers from an alleged near death experience.
According to Representative Jeff Van Drew, “Iran launched a mothership probably about a month ago that contains these drones.”
The lawmaker’s apparently in possession of information which hasn’t yet been publicly released. “That mothership,” he insists, is “off the East Coast of the United States of America.”
They’ve “launched drones.” The New Jersey Republican explains that logically, he’s explored the various possibilities.
“We know there was a probability it could have been our own government.” That’s because they’ve been spying on Americans, especially conservative ones, for years. Not this time. “We know it’s not our own government because they would have let us know.” Well… We’re not so sure about that. It also “could have been some really glorified hobbyist or hobbyists.” That’s not likely.
“The third possibility was somebody, an adversarial country doing this.” It’s not clear why he thinks Iran has New Jersey under surveillance. As opposed to, say, Russia or China. They would more likely be targeting the West Coast, due to geographic factors.

He has sources
It’s a real possibility that Congressman Van Drew does have access to inside information. He happens to sit on two important committees. The House Judiciary Committee and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
He told Fox that he has “high,” “qualified,” and “responsible” sources. He just can’t identify them. “I don’t say this lightly,” The New Jersey lawmaker assures.
The mobsters in his jurisdiction don’t like them and want him to do something about them. “These drones should be shot down.” He declares. He doesn’t care who put them up in the sky. Drones the size of an SUV make the citizens of New Jersey extremely nervous.
Especially when nobody wants to step forward to take responsibility for them. “Whether it was some crazy hobbyist that we can’t imagine or whether it is Iran, and I think it very possible could be, they should be shot down.”
Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Instigation issued a statement noting “that the bureau had not yet identified an individual or group that may be responsible for the mysterious drone sightings.” That’s not surprising. They only put conservatives under surveillance.
The drone sightings began “just before Thanksgiving and have since been reported in several North Jersey counties.” In swarms. Governor Phil Murphy reports there were “49 purported drone sightings on Sunday, 20 of them in Hunterdon County.” There’s a chance that count might not be accurate. “He acknowledged that the sightings likely were overstated, as some were probably airplanes or were counted twice.“
