The public approval rating for the U.S. Secret Service has dropped to a new low amid the ongoing controversies over the two assassination attempts of former President Donald Trump.
In the aftermath of Trump being shot at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, the Secret Service’s approval rating has plummeted.

According to a Gallup poll published Monday, the agency’s approval rating dropped by 23 points.
The poll, conducted between September 3-15, showed that 32% of Americans rate the Secret Service “excellent” or “good.” Meanwhile, 25% rate the agency “fair” and 36% rate it as “poor.”
When broken down by political affiliation, the poll showed that Republicans and Republican-leaning independents have reported the highest drop in support for the Secret Service.
In its analysis of the polling, Gallup reported: “Positive ratings of the Secret Service have dropped precipitously since last year among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents (by 26 points, to 20%) and Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (by 18 points, to 47%).”
This data is the lowest rating that the Secret Service has received in the five times that Gallup has polled Americans’ support for the agency over the past 10 years.
The poll was nearly finished when yet another deranged leftist attempted to assassinate Trump on September 15, which was thwarted when Secret Service agents saw the would-be assassin’s gun barrel sticking out of a bush just 300-500 yards away from where the former president was golfing at the Trump International Golf Club. While the Secret Service did prevent the shooting this time, the agency is still facing outrage because the would-be assassin should have never been able to get that close in the first place.
Outrage over the Secret Service’s failure to protect Trump is not just limited to Republicans, with even vehemently anti-Trump lawmakers like Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) calling out the agency for its failures.
“I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished, and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president,” he told reporters, adding that the American people will also be outraged about the “failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be more forthcoming… in terms of providing information.”
