Once again, the state of Arizona is having more election problems.
We are all quite familiar with the problems in Maricopa County, which seems to have issues in every election.
However, there are now reportedly problems in Pima County, the second-largest county in the state (behind Maricopa).
More Problems
Two state officials wrote a letter to Arizona’s Attorney General on the matter.
They were calling for the investigation of Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cazares-Kelly.
According to the filing, Cazares-Kelly closed the early ballot portal a full week before the deadline had arrived.
This reportedly impacted roughly 4,000 voters.
The letter stated, “Reports indicate that nearly 4,000 voters were impacted.
“It is imperative to fully investigate the Recorder’s arbitrary decision to restrict ballot access in this manner and determine the extent to which voters were disenfranchised.”
Arizona Freedom Caucus member and state Rep. Justin Heap ran for office saying that his focus will be to fix these election issues.
He stated, “It is undeniably true that past elections, under both parties and spanning more than a decade, have denigrated our county’s reputation and made us the laughing stock of the nation. That ends today.
“Throughout my campaign, I made my promises to restore trust in our elections and respect all voters an issue of paramount importance — and I intend to deliver on those promises.”
I just don’t understand how we seem to have the same problems in the same states during every election.
Conveniently, these states often seem to have Democrats running the show, yet they are the same people whining about free and fair elections all the time.
When you are closing voting portals early, how is that promoting a free and fair election for those that were locked out from the voting process?
Heap says he will get this stuff fixed, but something tells me that when mid-term election roll around, Arizona will have the same problems in the same counties again.
