As fears of scarcity promoted hoarding level demand, the new and improved 2021 Black Lives Matter™ Friday combined shopping tradition with social justice reparations. What could be a better buy than 100% off? Liberal Minnesota’s version of the national celebration featured promotions focused on Best Buy stores. Retailers in major cities across America were looted. Anarchists even looted pry bars and other looting tools from Home Depot.

Black Friday looting

The Black Friday looting spree in Minnesota’s Twin Cities targeted a matched pair of Best Buy stores. Just after 8:00 p.m., two coordinated groups of well prepared looters attacked both home electronics outlets at the same time.

Local news KSTP reports one “of the looting frenzies occurred at the Burnsville Best Buy, where 20-30 suspects rushed the store in a flash mob-style robbery.” At least it was a peaceful robbery. Defunded and demoralized Burnsville Police Captain Don Stenger confirms “no weapons were used in the Burnsville shoplifting incident.” They don’t have a single clue. “We don’t know exactly what was taken or the dollar value.”

The area’s other Black Friday “looting incident” targeted the branch in Maplewood, “where police say a group of ten to twelve looters, comprised of adults and juveniles, stole ‘high value items,'” while police let them. The cops were impressed at the sophisticated heist.

All the “suspects walked into the store at the same time and worked in tandem to steal hoverboards, televisions, and tablets, among other items.” Because nobody was injured in either one of the crimes, “no suspects were arrested.” They aren’t sure, and aren’t allowed to say until they check it out for certain but police are “investigating if the incidents are related.”

Best Buy issued a statement noting that even though these nationwide Black Friday looting sprees appear to be “by and large, non-violent,” they still have serious consequences. Ones that are “often traumatic for those who witnessed them.”

Their workers are about to sue the pants off them for failing to protect their safety at work. “As an industry, we are working with local law enforcement and taking additional security precautions where it makes sense.” It’s obvious that the police aren’t going to lift a finger so private security and vigilant citizens are the only answer left.

We need laws

Even though the police aren’t enforcing the laws already on the books, Best Buy is “working at the federal level to pass a law that would make the online re-selling of these stolen goods much more difficult.” Maybe threatening to arrest the consumers will deter the looters.

The County Sheriff is upset with this year’s Black Friday sale. “We can’t tolerate that kind of behavior. Just as a society, we just can’t.” He’s not upset enough to do anything about it though.

The organized Black Lives Matter Friday robbery spree continued in California, where “smash and grab” and “flash-mob–style” looting occurred in Los Angeles County. They started by looting the looting tools.

“A group of 15- to 20-year-olds wearing ski masks allegedly broke into a Home Depot on Friday and seized mallets, crowbars, and sledgehammers.” Later, “that same night, across the city in the Beverly Grove area, thieves reportedly used pepper spray to subdue individuals at a Bottega Veneta store before fleeing with a significant amount of high-end merchandise.”

On the North Side of Chicago, “A Footlocker, North Face, and Boost Mobile in the Wicker Park neighborhood were looted within an hour.”

Some Antifa inspired anarchists jumped the line and started looting early. On Thursday, “thieves smashed the window at a Canada Goose store and stole expensive outerwear.” Happy Black Friday!
