Breaking news from a Hamas-affiliated news outlet has just confirmed the death of a terrorist leader by Israeli forces. This serves as a major victory for the country of Israel.

A senior militia official was killed in a suspected Israeli air strike, according to Shebab News, a Palestinian news agency affiliated with Hamas. Sami al-Hassani was a member and reported founder of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades (AMB), which is linked to Fatah, the network of militias that control the West Bank.

The AMB has been referred to as part of Fatah before but is more commonly used as a generic term for cells of militias within the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center At the Israeli Intelligence Heritage and Commemoration Center. Al-Hassani’s death comes after Ibrahim al-Nabulsi, commander of AMB, was killed in Nablus during an Israeli operation last year.

These events are not isolated incidents; rather they are indicative of what happens when Hamas attacks Israel with impunity. On Saturday alone, Hamas militants stormed into southern Israel killing 1,300 people including 247 soldiers and young children who were shot in their homes.

To make matters worse, civilians have been forced to crowd into UN-run schools for safety due to Israel laying siege to Gaza territory which blocks entry points for food and medicine amongst other necessities.

In response to this aggression from Hamas Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to “crush” them while Energy Minister Israel Katz announced “Not a single electricity switch will be flipped on, not a single faucet will be turned on and not a single fuel truck will enter until the Israeli hostages are returned home” — showing no mercy towards those responsible for such horrific acts against innocent people.

In addition to cutting off resources like fuel trucks from entering Gaza it appears that strikes continue against various militia groups associated with Fatah such as AMB as well as Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

These actions taken by Israel reinforce their commitment towards protecting its civilians.
