Freedom loving Americans have been trapped in their homes for over a year now, with no outlet for their increasing frustration. After having their freedom taken away for so long, it only makes sense that Americans would eventually act out.
An “illegal party” of more than 5,000 people gathered in the Tonto National Forest, just northeast of Phoenix, Arizona, for a massive celebration. Party-goers had restricted access to the area by taping off sections of the main road and parking vehicles all along the main roads.
The party was eventually broken up by U.S. Forest Service personnel after officers patrolling in the area stumbled upon the unauthorized gathering.
According to local news outlet WLNS, “The Tonto National Forest requires a permit application to be submitted and approved for all gatherings of over 75 people.”
Susan Blake, who works at the Tonto National Forest, told reporters that it was probably the largest unauthorized gathering they’ve ever seen in the forest.
“There were, you know, DUIs. There were plenty of tickets issued for riding two up on ATVs. Not wearing helmets for children,” Blake said.
Authorities report that the violations seen at the party include DUIs, double riding, speeding, blocking roadways, illegal use of fireworks, reckless vehicle operation, staging camps in illegal areas, and target shooting. There were also seven accidents reported, as well as multiple reports of stolen vehicles.
“Well, I was horrified to see it. That many people engaged in those types of activities in one area — it’s going to be super destructive,” said Sandy Bahr with the Sierra Club Grand Canyon Chapter.
According to the U.S Forest Service, the party put “the public, Forest Service personnel, and first responders at risk.”
