ICYMI – New York City Mayor Eric Adams may have solved the challenge of perpetual motion. He’s got the city’s migrants shuffling around in an endless circle seeking sanctuary. He has no idea where to put any of them and Joe Biden won’t cough up any answers, or cash. Instead, Joe promised everyone amnesty and a job.
New York City overrun
New York City has been overrun by needy migrants. The sanctuary city never imagined they would get stuck actually having to provide any. Local outlets are reporting the flood of illegals “has gotten so bad that overfilled transient hotels are telling desperate refugees they should go back to the bus station for further guidance.”
When they get there, they’re told that some slots opened up, so hike on back to the hotel. Once they arrive at the door, they’re informed that was old news and those slots are filled. Just go back to the bus station.
One couple told reporters “the shelter is at full capacity.” They were talking about the Stewart Hotel on Seventh Avenue, “which is supposed to be one of the city’s four Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers.” Supposed is the key word.

The family migrated their way up from Ecuador. They have two young kids with them and aren’t used to the northern climate. New York isn’t nearly as warm as their homeland. The shelter told them go “to 41st and Eighth, Port Authority.”
The bus station address is also prominently displayed on a sign nearby because the “Stewart Hotel is filled and turning away migrants seeking shelter.” So far, “36,400 migrants have come through New York since last June.”
The tent city they put up then tore back down will go back up again. Adams “has quietly put out a request for bids to open up another mega-shelter.” This time, they’re hoping for a spot which won’t make the homeless community jealous again.
No geographic restrictions
Mayor Adams doesn’t care where the migrants end up. “There are no geographic restrictions within New York State,” officials declare in their formal request. “All proposals,” anywhere in the state “will be considered.” Meanwhile, the Stewart Hotel is the crisis epicenter.
“The doors to the location were locked.” Employees are filtering in “guests” sporting “blue lanyards around their necks.” Those lanyards will soon be worth killing for.
“Two signs were also on the doors: one with the address for Port Authority and the other with the address for shelter for single men and families.” One mother complained that this isn’t the asylum Joe Biden promised them. The story is the same across New York City. She’s “been coming around for three days trying to get a room at the Stewart.” Like Adams proclaimed, “there’s no room at the inn” because “migrants have filled hotel mega-shelters.”

The new un-sheltered resident “was here till 10:30 last night trying to get a room. My daughter really needs shelter. She has a fever from sucking up the cold these days. I don’t understand, here [at the Stewart] they tell me to go to Port Authority, but I’ve already been and Port Authority sends me right back here and says there’s capacity here. I’ve called the numbers of the other hotels but they all say they’re full, there’s nothing.”
After walking up from the equator, New York City assumes they won’t mind walking around in circles. A “worker at another mega-shelter hotel — The Wolcott at 4 W. 31st St.,” was overheard telling one migrant couple “the place was full and they couldn’t stay there, but would help them find another shelter.” Their website basically says don’t bother coming down. “It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that the Wolcott Hotel will be closed to transient hotel guests indefinitely.” They play the COVID card. “With the current Delta variant and uncertainty when travel will return, I feel this is the best course of action for the hotel and her employees for the near future.”
Along with the Stewart, a third “mega-shelter for migrants” quickly followed suit. “At The Row, there was an extremely chaotic scene of kids running around and migrants looking for help. There was a long line of people waiting to be scanned with ID cards while others lingered outside after being rejected.” Loop back around again, they’re told. “Unfortunately there’s no more rooms available, but you can go to Port Authority and on the second floor there are people who can direct you to another hotel.” They send them to the Stewart.
