The next time you are at a country music event, be very thankful because there was one particular occasion where a seven-person brawl broke out at one.
For many people, it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream: they got to see country music legend Tracy Lawrence in concert at the Blind Horse Saloon in Greenville, North Carolina.
However, there are plenty of people who may not be aware of the reputation of the Blind Horse Saloon in Greenville. Let’s just put it this way: they have a dedicated team of security professionals and for good reason.
That’s because the Blind Horse Saloon is the definition of a pure honky tonk to the core. It is hands down the best (and rowdiest) concert venue in South Carolina to watch live musicians perform.
The normal crowd at this venue would be an obscure mix of college frat boys, sorority girls, older dudes, women with tremendous egos, and rednecks who are willing to go to blows at the slightest provocation or even the least bit of eye contact.
Now that we’ve established that, there is always something that is bound to go down at that venue…
And it absolutely did on the night that Tracy Lawrence was on stage.
As ol’ Mr. Lawrence was playing his 1994 hit “If the World Had A Front Porch,” it wasn’t hard to notice a massive circle of people enveloping the dance floor, but unfortunately, they weren’t there to dance.
If you were in the middle of that, it wouldn’t be long before you would have stumbled onto a WiLD seven-person fistfight that included an old dude who was whooping some much younger guy’s derriere while the guy’s woman was desperately trying to break it up.
Meanwhile, in the background, there was some other random dude that was bopping a guy in the head with a beer bottle.
Luckily, security was able to break up the fight and escort a bunch of people out, many of them with blood on their faces.
The good news is that this was one country music event where you could definitely be proud of Tracy Lawrence.
The dude lived up to his billing as a country music legend by simply playing his set right through and totally ignoring the fact that the brawl was going on at all…
Our hats off to Mr. Lawrence, and everyone be careful at the Blind Horse from here on out…!
