A veteran’s daughters violated the school dress code, and now this man is ready for a complete and all-out war for their rights.

A Texas school is up in arms after saying that a veteran’s twin daughters wore jackets that violated the dress code of the school because they featured a large patriotic image on the back.

Unfortunately for the school, they quickly realized that they had bit off more than they could chew because their veteran father was ready to go to war over the situation.

Indeed, all you have to do is take one look at the home of the Phil Rolen family, and you can quickly determine that they are a proud military family. There is a flag outside their Providence Village home and plenty of photos inside, the Rolens are proud that they had the privilege to serve in the United States Air Force. Moreover, their eleven year-old twins Kaidence and Abigail were even born on an Air Force base.

Thus, the twin girls bought some Air Force jackets to wear to Aubrey Middle School and that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

“The Air Force ones they picked out — we might’ve nudged them a little bit,” Phil said.

The twins had actually purchased the jackets with money they had earned from selling cakes in a jar, but the girls were pretty shocked at the reaction they received from teachers once they stepped into their fifth-grade classroom.

“She yelled at me and said that’s out of the dress code and that she would get me in trouble if I wore something out of dress code,” Kaidence said.

When Phil Rolen learned about the school’s request that his daughters would have to put the jackets away, this disabled Iraq War veteran was not very happy, and that’s an understatement. The man was totally furious, as a matter of fact.

When the disabled veteran called the principal, he was told that the Air Force logo was fine but it was just too large for the dress code.

“I have a little bit of a rebellious streak in me, so when I spoke to the principal I told her they’re going to be wearing them still,” Phil said. “I’m hoping the district will use common sense, but we’re not going to back down from this.”

What?! The school dress code forbids students from wearing patriotic designs on their shirts and jackets? I have to agree with this veteran that this is extremely ridiculous.

UPDATE: After a tremendous outpouring of support on social media, the school district gave in and allowed these young students to continue to wear their Air Force jackets.
