Amidst reports of record low approval rankings for his performance in office, Joe Biden drew harsh criticism for two uncomfortable moments which have actually generated heightened concerns regarding his physical and mental fitness to lead.

On Thursday, Biden provided rather blunt acknowledgments for the death of Jo-Ann Stores CFO Matt Susz, who “dropped dead” the day before. In a White House speech attending to efforts to suppress inflation, Biden ripped the global shipping business, however, paused briefly to attend to the head of the business, stating “and by the way, my sympathies to your family of your CFO, who dropped dead very unexpectedly.”

The coarse  “dropped dead” description of Susz’s death, triggered a gush of jokes and criticism with lots of Twitter users about Biden’s tone and word choice while others referred to oft-repeated issues that the septuagenarian might be experiencing mental deterioration.

In a Friday episode, first lady Jill Biden quickly tugged her husband away from reporters as he tried to respond to concerns about increasing inflation.

The Bidens, and first feline Willow, were en route to their house in Delaware for the holiday weekend.

“It should not be this high,” he said to reporters, per the New York Post. “They’re making exorbitant profits, number one. Number two, I’ve contacted them, my team has, to ask what their plans are and to give any suggestions they have.”

He added: “There are 9,000 leases — 9,000 — that they can drill … but they’re not doing it.”

“Number three, I think we’re going to be in a position where we’re gonna,” he continued prior to his wife pulling him towards the airplane, sternly chiding him “we gotta go!” The Friday episode likewise drew in a flurry of mockery, with commenters taking the first lady’s assertive actions in the moment as proof of Biden’s “cognitive issues.” Others disagreed with Biden’s regular trips from Washington to his home state, where he has reportedly spent approximately 1/4 of his presidency so far. According to The New York Post, “He did not complete the full thought as the first lady intervened, but he proceeded to take a final question about when he would visit India, saying he would at some point.”

Biden’s approval rating stood at 39% on Friday, per a USA TODAY/Suffolk survey. An incredible 47% of responders “strongly” disapproved of his performance.
