Former Hawaii Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has never been afraid to call out her own party, and this time she’s going scorched earth on Joe Biden.
Republicans are never afraid to call out one of their own. In fact, they do it too often, they do it too easily, and they usually do it when it isn’t even warranted. Democrats, on the other hand, almost never call out one of their own, unless they are calling them out for agreeing with the other side, as evidenced by the recent attacks on Senator Joe Manchin for upholding the filibuster rule.
Unlike the rest of the Democrats, Tulsi Gabbard is willing to criticize her party when they are clearly in the wrong, which is why they seem to hate her so much.
Gabbard, who is also an Army Reserve officer, recently called out Joe Biden for failing to deliver on a key campaign promise. In two separate videos shared on Twitter, she accused him of “doing all he can do divide us.”
The first video was comprised of two clips from a speech given by Biden on ‘voting rights’ that he delivered on January 11th in Atlanta, Georgia.
“I will defend the right to vote, our democracy against all enemies — foreign and, yes, domestic,” Biden said.
Biden then compared anyone supporting the Democrats’ radical voting legislation to virtuous civil rights leaders, and villainized everyone else who doesn’t support the legislation by comparing them to segregationists and a Confederate leader.
“At consequential moments in history, they present a choice: Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace?” Biden asked. “Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis? This is the moment to decide to defend our elections, to defend our democracy.”
Tweeting out that video, Gabbard denounced Biden’s rhetoric, saying that it was worse than when then-candidate Hillary Clinton called half of Trump supporters “deplorables.”
“Hillary’s calling tens of millions of Americans deplorables was divisive & disgusting. But Biden has gone further, calling those who disagree with his actions & policies domestic enemies, traitors, and racists. Biden promised to unite us, but he is doing all he can do divide us,” she tweeted.

In her second post calling out Biden, Tulsi Gabbard once again chastised him for not uniting the country as he promised.
“Biden promised to unite our country. Instead he betrayed us, pouring fuel on the fire of divisiveness, tearing our country apart. Biden compares those who disagree with him to racists, traitors & enemies, & has his AG target Americans as domestic terrorists. Unfit to lead,” she tweeted.
In the video, she stated:
“I supported Joe Biden, and millions of other Americans voted for Joe Biden because he promised to unite us. He promised to bring us together, to end the divisiveness. Sadly, not only has he failed to do this, he has betrayed us all by pouring fuel on the fires of divisiveness that are tearing our country apart. Now Biden compares those who disagree with him to racists, traitors, to enemies of bygone eras. And Biden now has his attorney general targeting millions of Americans as domestic terrorists.”
Gabbard then played a clip of Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen announcing that the Department of Justice would be launching a new unit targeting domestic terrorism.
In the clip, which shows Olsen testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he states:
“We face an elevated threat from domestic violent extremists — that is, individuals in the United States who seek to commit violent criminal acts in furtherance of domestic social or political goals. Domestic violent extremists are often motivated by a mix of ideologies and personal grievances. We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies.”
Concluding the video, Tulsi Gabbard warned: “If we allow this to continue, our country, our country, the country that we love, the land of the free, the home of the brave, it’ll be unrecognizable, and it will be lost forever.”
