They Want Trump GONE…

The first big event of the new election cycle took place this weekend.

The Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leader meeting is generally considered the presidential cattle call, with all the major players showing up to give speeches and raise their profiles.

This year was no exception.

What was different, however, was that just about everyone was looking for a way to cut Trump down at the knees.

Time to Move On

Trump continues to have enough support among GOP voters that he will likely win the nomination.

Having said that, few outside of Trump’s camp and diehard supporters believe that he can win a general election.

That, of course, could change, as we are still two years away from the handles being pulled.

It could also get much worse, leading to a complete turnover of the government to Democrats again, which would be an utter disaster for conservatives.

With that in mind, it seemed like everyone was taking shots at Trump during this weekend’s events.

Trump did a virtual address, declaring, “The Republican Party is a much bigger, more powerful party than it was before I got there.”

It is that type of self-worship that is pushing many people in the party away from him.

Some of this is coming from anti-Trumpers in the party, such as Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.

Hogan stated, “Trump said we would be winning so much we’d get tired of winning.

“Well, I’m sick and tired of our party losing.

“This is the third election in a row that we lost and should have won.

“I say three strikes and you’re out.”

That narrative was a common one for many that attacked the former President.

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, another anti-Trumper, stated, “I’ve got a great policy for the Republican Party.

“Let’s stop supporting crazy, unelectable candidates in our primaries and start getting behind winners that can close the deal in November.”

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has recently flipped on Trump.

He stated, “If you put yourself forward to be a candidate for President of the United States, you damn well better believe that you got the spine of steel the intellectual capability and the temerity to be the commander in chief for the most important country in the history of civilization.

“And if you believe that it shouldn’t matter who the heck gets in the race, if you’re the only one or if there’s 15 of you.”

Senator Cruz fell in line with the McConnell attack on Trump putting forward unelectable candidates in this year’s mid-term races.

He stated, “Candidate quality matters. I will say, some of the nominees, particularly some of the gubernatorial nominees who raised next to no money, ran no TV commercials, and didn’t really run a campaign, dammit, this is serious business.

“If you can’t raise money and run a campaign, step aside and let the adults do the work that needs to be done.

“So I’m frustrated when my party fields candidates that have no realistic chance of success.”

None of this will matter to Trump’s primary base, which is strong enough to take on all comers and hand Trump the nomination.

I ask all of these people, what happens then?

Do they switch gears and support Trump or do they hand Joe Biden and Democrats another four years?
