Donald Trump is really taking it on the chin right now.
He is waiting for the hammer to fall from the DOJ, he is facing a civil suit in New York, and now he just took another loss in court.
An appeals court ruled that the DOJ can move forward evaluating the documents it has already deemed to be classified from the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Another Blow
Trump always knew the halt was only temporary, but his attorneys were hoping the DOJ would be blocked from moving forward until after the review by the Special Master.
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled, “It is self-evident that the public has a strong interest in ensuring that the storage of the classified records did not result in ‘exceptionally grave damage to the national security.’
“Ascertaining that, necessarily involves reviewing the documents, determining who had access to them and when, and deciding which (if any) sources or methods are compromised.”
The decision means that the 100 or so classified documents will continue to be reviewed by the DOJ, allowing it to move forward with its case against Trump.
I still don’t believe anything will happen anytime soon.
This was clearly a political attack regardless of whether Trump was wrong in taking those documents.
This could have been handled far differently, but it is all about disqualifying Trump from being able to run for office again.
