Trump Continues Savaging Associated Press

President Donald Trump has continued to savage the Associated Press following his victory in federal court that upheld his ban on the outlet’s White House access.

As GOP News Feed previously reported: “In early February, President Donald Trump banned the Associated Press from White House access after the outlet refused to accept that he changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to ‘Gulf of America.’ The Associated Press’ guidelines are the standard for most news outlets, meaning that whatever terms they deem correct will continue to be used, despite their inaccuracies.”

On February 25, U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden rejected the Associated Press’ challenge to Trump’s ban. The outlet demanded that the court temporarily restore its White House access while the case is being decided, but the judge argued that the outlet did not face “irreparable harm” from the decision, as it can still get the same information from the press pool that it would have gotten from being in the room.

“While their right to irresponsible and dishonest reporting is protected by the First Amendment, it does not ensure their privilege of unfettered access to limited spaces, like the Oval Office and Air Force One,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich wrote in a statement on X in response to the lawsuit.

Trump is now taking a victory lap, telling reporters in the Oval Office that the leftist media, like the Associated Press, will no longer be calling the shots as to who gets access to the president.

“We’re going to be now calling those shots,” Trump said. “As you know, we won that lawsuit right there — see the Gulf of America, which is a beautiful name, most people agree.”

“AP has been terrible,” he added. “I think they’re radical Left. I think they’re third rate reporters. I know the specific young lady that works on the account is terrible. She’s a radical Left lunatic as far as I’m concerned. They don’t treat us fairly.”

Trump further pointed out that the Associated Press had “no right” to continue using the incorrect term, “Gulf of Mexico,” after it was renamed to the “Gulf of America.”
